Challenge Your Stash

Have you ever made a card and just not like it?  Well today I made a card for our Challenge your Stash group on Splitcoaststampers.  The challenge came from Lisa and she decided we needed to celebrate National Write a Friend month by creating a card where you can easily write a note to a friend.

Well I had this adorable gnome stamp by Woodware Craft Collection called Floral Hat.  The fun for me is coloring the image.  Must come from when I was a child and could sit for hours coloring and no I never went outside the lines.  LOL

This was my first attempt at the card.  I liked the coloring but the card itself just looked like it needed some color.

And here is my second attempt.  I like it alot better.  It needed some color to bring out the colors in the hat.

So thanks Lisa for a great challenge.  Since this is a slimline card, I will be able to write a nice long note to a friend.

PIP Challenge #2151

Can you believe Christmas is just 5 short days away.  It sure doesn't feel like Christmas here in Kansas with the warm weather we are having but I am enjoying my walks  and seeing the beautiful lights everyone has up.

For today's Challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies (#2151) we are being sponsored by We are 3 Digital Shop.

For my card today I am using the Snowman image from their online etsy shop.  He is such a cute little guy.

I printed off the image once I decided what size I was going to use and then colored it with my copic markers. The designer papers I used are from Winter Whimsy by Gina K Designs.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card.  I hope to see you one more time on my blog before the new year starts.

Merry Christmas to all.

PIP Challenge #2149

Monday sure rolled around quickly.  This means it is time for another challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenges.  There is no sponsor this week but Pam has ben generous enough to offer a $5 gift certificate to Mo's Digital Pencil.

I love foxes so I decided to use the stamp Winter Fox from Mo's Digital Pencil image.  There are so many adorable images in their store that I had a hard time deciding which image to purchase and use for our challenge this week.

I colored the image wit my copic markers and then used a circle die to cut the image out.  I added a few flag on the lower part of the circle.  The papers I used are from Carta Bella Dear Santa.

Thanks for stopping by to see my card this week.  I hope to see your entry over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenges.

Challenge Your Stash

Well I don't know how it happened but the month of November has just flown by.  I almost forgot today is the 28th and that I needed to post my card I made for our Challenge Your Stash Group on Splitcoaststampers.  Kari was our hostess this month and her theme was to reuse/recycle/repurpose.

For my card I used this adorable stamp set from Close to my heart called Gnome For Christmas.  I colored the images with my copic markers and then fussy cut them out.  My reuse part of the card is at the bottom where I used some polyfill stuffing from a pillow I was going to throw away.  Thought it would make perfect snow.

Thanks Kari for a great challenge and helping us to "Think outside the box".

PIP Challenge #2147

I am excited for our challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies this week.  Our Challenge this week (#2147) is being sponsored by Lawn Fawn.  I just love all the adorable stamps that Lawn Fawn has.

The hardest part for me this month on the challenge was which stamp set should I use?  I have so many and it was a tough decision.  Since Christmas is right around the corner I have decided to use the Snow Globe Scenes stamp set.
I think foxes are just the cutest animals and have such fun personalities so of course I had to use a fox in my card.  I stamped the fox/star image on tan paper and then colored the image.  I cut out the snow globe and then cut out the center circle.  I added an acrylic circle behind the snow globe and then used thin foam tape to adhere to the fox image.  I added some glitter before adhering to the image.  I used some snowflake paper for the background and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside border for the bottom of the card.

This was such a fun shaker card to make.  Thanks for stopping by and be sure and check out what the rest of the design team has created over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies for our challenge this week.

Classy Card Ladies

Well I don't know how it happened but the 15th of the month has rolled around again which means it is time for our Classy Card Ladies challenge.  This is our last challenge for the year as we will be taking the month of December off.  Our challenge this month is sent from Carol and Shelly.

Carol and Shelly decided our theme this month would be Celebrate the seasons and play tic-tac-toe.

For the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge we are to pick a row of three and use all of those elements on your card.  For my card I decided to use the center row which includes Ribbon, Ornament and a Christmas Tree.  You will see on my card below that I embossed the tree with gold embossing powder which has ornaments hanging from the tree.  I used some gold ribbon at the bottom of the Merry Christmas Paper strip.

The items I used for this card are:
Image - Unity Christmas Tree of Hope, Joy, Love
Designer Paper - Paper Studio
Ribbon - Hobby Lobby

It is always fun to see what the other girls do with the image sent.  Shelly actually sent me the Unity stamp which will be a great addition to my Christmas Stamps.  Click on each name below and see what the other girls did with the challenge this month.

PIP Challenge #2145

Time for Challenge #2145 over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenges.  Today's challenge is being sponsored by Cas-ual Fridays Stamps.

For my card today I decided to use a digital stamp that they have in their store called "Patridge Digi".  I am thrilled that they have digital stamps and clear stamps to choose from.

I printed the image off on my printer and then colored it with my copic markers.  The sentiment comes with the stamp set.  The background papers are from LDRS Creative called Christmas Cottage.

Be sure and check out the Cas-Ual Fridays Stamps store because they have some wonderful stamps to choose from.

Challenge Your Stash

Today is reveal day for our Challenge Your Stash group on Splitcoaststampers.  Sue was our hostess this month and she challenged us to make a masculine card.

My great nephews birthday is November 1 so I decided to make him a birthday card.  He is an avid baseball player so I had purchased this image on canvas a while back thinking I would do something with it.  I took the canvas off the cardboard and cut it down to a 4 3/4 x 6 3/4 size.  I then colored the image with my copic markers.  I added the number 32 because that is his number on all his teams.  (It was his mommas number when she played so a tribute to her).  I also added the Happy Birthday on the front.

This was a fun card to make and a little out of the ordinary but I'm sure he will like it.  He will definitely like the cash inside.

PIP Challenge #2143

Time again for another challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  We are doing Challenge #2143 and it is being sponsored by Beccy's Place.

You find find some adorable digital images at her store.  Be sure and check it out.

For my card today I decided to use the Merle Digital Stamp from Beccy's Place.  I have a friend who loves Giraffes so I thought I would get a jump on my Christmas cards and make her a card.

I colored the image with my copic markers and even used some glossy accents on the lights.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I used the stitched mini slim stacklet from Taylored Expressions to cut out the giraffe.  I then used the petite Scallop Mini Slim Stacklet for the red part of the card.

I am loving the mini slimline cards.  So easy to make.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure and check out what the other members of the design team have done for our challenge this week.

Classy Card Ladies

Is it really October?  Can't believe this month is just flying by.  Since today is the 15th, this means time for our Classy Card Ladies Challenge.  LJ and Darlene are our hostesses this month and they came up with a wonderful challenge.  The challenge was to use Snarky or Humorous sentiments for our card.

The sentiments are from Neat and Tangled.  I decided to add a dog from Newtons Nook to my card and then I found a free digital image of a fire hydrant.  The paper is by Lawn Fawn called Really Rainbow.

Such a fun challenge.  Be sure and check out all the other Classy Card Ladies and see what they came up with for the challenge this month.

I colored the image with my copic markers and pop dotted it on to my card.  I hope you enjoyed my card.  You can see what the rest of the Classy Card Ladies did with our challenge by clicking on their names below.

PIP Challenge #2141

Happy Monday!  Today our Challenge #2141 over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies is being sponsored by SheepSki Designs.

It is a bit cooler here in Kansas today so I decided to make a halloween card for  my card this week.  I am using the adorable image from SheepSki Designs called Vlad and Mia.

I colored the image with my copic markers and used a circle die from Pink and Fresh to cut it out with.  I added the cobweb die cut at the bottom to add a little interest.  And the sequins were just the final touch.

I hope you liked my card today.  Be sure and check out SheepSki Designs because they have some adorable halloween digital cards.

Challenge Your Stash

Today is reveal day for our Challenge Your Stash group over on Splitcoaststampers.  This is always so much fun and I look forward to see what our hostess challenges us with every month.  Jeanette is our hostess this month.  If you click on her name, it will take you to her blog which you should check out.  She always has the greatest posts.

So Jeanette's challenge for us this month was to make something that begins with the letter S.

So for my project I used:

Sack - for base of project

Stencil - Grass at the base of my card

Sponges - to do the background with distress ink

Scarecrow - For my one of my images

Sequins - to decorate the page.

Sentiment - Hello Autumn

Salmon colored ribbon - For the bow - I know this is a stretch.  LOL!

I have been told that I am an overachiever and I guess I kind of went overboard on this challenge.  But it was so much fun.  I had originally thought that I would make a card with a scarecrow on it but then I got carried away.

The stamp set I used was Your Next Stamp "Autumn Harvest" which is one of my favorite fall stamp sets.  It is just so much fun to color.  Below is a closeup of the adorable images I used.

Thanks Jeanette for such a great challenge.

PIP Challenge #2139

Time for another challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  Challenge #2139 is being sponsored by Polkadoodles.  You will see some of the cutest images when you go to their website.

For my card today I am using the adorable stamp "Winnie Sugar Sprinkles Springtime Hello".  It is such an adorable digital stamp to color.  I printed it off my computer and then colored the image with my copic markers.

The green background paper is actually a download from Polkadoodles also.  I think it is amazing you can even print digital paper.  This was such a fun card to color.  I just had to add the sentiment on the bottom of the card.  It is from Stampin Up Pretty Kitty Stamp Set.

Thanks to Polkadooles for being our sponsor this week.

Inky Paws Challenge

Today I decided to take a little break from sewing and make a halloween card.  I noticed that Newtons Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge this week was Halloween as a theme.  I always love making halloween cards.

For my card today I used the stamp set Newton's Perfect Pumpkin stamp set.  I love this set because it has so many things to use on the set.  I used a cloud stencil for my background and a grass die for the bottom of my card.  I then stamped the bat & eek! images over the card.  I colored the images with copic markers and cut them out.  My black moon has the cobweb and spider stamp from the same stamp set.  The possibilities are endless with this set.

Mystery Image #66

I made today's card for a Mystery Image Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  Carol was our hostess this month and she came up with an adorable image to challenge us with.

The image is called "Mimi" by Taylored Expressions.  I thought it was adorable but my carded needed something a little extra so I added the dog house which is from the Happy Tails stamp set by Stampin Up.

Thanks Carol for a great challenge this month.

Classy Card Ladies

Today is September 15th and that means it is time for our Classy Card Ladies Challenge.  I am lucky enough to have Barb as my partner and we love to come up with ideas for challenges.  September was our month to hostess so we decided to have as our challenge "Pumpkins" because fall is just around the corner and all my favorite coffee houses have started selling Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

The items I used on my card are as follows:
Stamped Image Pumpkin Latte by Newtons Nook Designs
Prima Pumpkin & Spice Designer Paper
Prima Pumpkin & Spice Crystals
Memory Box Stitched Farm Pumpkin Dies
Twine
Buttons

I colored the image with my copic markers and pop dotted it on to my card.  I hope you enjoyed my card.  You can see what the rest of the Classy Card Ladies did with our challenge by clicking on their names below.

PIP Challenge #2137

Today's challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies  does not have a sponsor but the winner of this challenge will win a $5 Gift Certificate from Mo's Digital Pencil donated by Pam.  After cleaning out my craft room this week, I have decided that Digital stamps are the way to go.  A lot less storage issue and they have so many darling images.

I did not have time to color one of Mo's Digital Pencil darling images so I decided to use a card I made for our Monthly Image Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  Patti was our hostess this month and she chose the image and sentiments from Stampin Up "Back On Your Feet".  It seems like we all know someone who is going through a rough patch and could use a card of encouragement.

I used an embossing folder for the background that looks like the turtle shell to me.  I colored the image with my copic markers and used SU circle dies to cut the image out.  I added a few gold sequins and wrapped twine around the sentiment on the bottom.

Thanks for checking out my card and I hope to see your entries over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.

PIP Challenge #2135

This week for Pammie's Inky Pinkies challenge we are being sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps.

There is an extra element to the challenge this week.  It is to be clean and simple.  You will see the description of how to do that on Pammie's blog.

I started out by printing off the adorable triple rose image and colored it with my copic markers.  I decided to use some washi tape on my card for a little extra look.  Then I added the butterfly and scroll to my card.  This would definitely be an easy card to create.

Thanks for stopping by.

Challenge Your Stash

Maggie had a great challenge for us this month over in our Challenge Your Stash group on Splitcoaststampers.  She challenged us to use dies and punches on our card - No stamps.  Well I have tons of dies and that hard part was deciding which set to use.

I have to admit that this die has not been in my stash long but I have been looking for a reason to use it.  The background is a pierced lattice cutting plate from Taylored Expressions.  The flower is called Layered coneflower by Honey Bee and the Hello is from Pink Fresh.

I cut the flowers out of Tim Holtz Watercolor paper and inked them up with my Distress oxides.  The stem I fussy cut and guessed on the size.

What a fun challenge.  I just may have to use this technique again.  I do love my flowers.

Inky Paws Challenge

I am a big fan of Newtons Nook Designs.  Their stamps are just the cutest and are always my go to stamp when I am looking to make a card.   I wanted to make a card for the Inky Paws Challenge this week.  The challenge this week is a color challenge and these colors are one of my favorite combinations.

For my card today I wanted to try something a little different.  I have seen on other cards where they actually use their copic markers to color the background.
I used the stamp set Peony Blooms for my card.  I started this card by stamping the image on each corner with my Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink and used clear embossing powder on top of the black ink.  This gives it a raised effect and makes it easier to color in the lines.  The sentiment I stamped and fussy cut out.
These were the copic colors I used on my card.  I sure used alot of ink coloring the background.  It also gives a different look to it.  I want to try black next time and really make the image pop.  I used a white gel pen to highlight the lighter parts of the flower.

I hope you enjoyed my card.  I sure had fun giving a different technique a try.

PIP Challenge #2133

It is hard to think that fall is right around the corner with the hot temperatures we are having.  But fall will soon be here with all the gorgeous colors.  This week Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge is being sponsored by Jan's Digital Stamps.

The image I am using for my card is "Fall Note".

I printed the image off and colored it with my copic markers.  The sentiment for the inside is from Pretty Pink Posh - Fall Signs.  The designer papers worked perfect with this image.  It is called Hocus Pocus from P13.

Be sure and check out Jan's Digital Stamps because I noticed on her website that all of her pumpkin stamps are 25% off for the month of August.  So grab your favorite pumpkin digital stamp now.

Classy Card Ladies

August 15th sure came around quickly.  It seems like the older I get, the faster time goes by.  Today's challenge for the Classy Card Ladies comes from Suzy and Deb.  Their theme this month is The Wild, Wild West.  And what a fun challenge it is.

The image is Cowboy from Suzy Stamps and the Armadillo is from Deadbeat Designs.  I colored the images with my copic markers.  The Howdy sentiment is from Deadbeat Designs.

For my card I also used the following embellishments for my card.
Paper Crafts Tags
The Paper Shop decorative Photo Corners
Turquois Paper Clip
Recollections Brads
Burlap Ribbon
Brown Ribbon
Twine
Sequins

Thanks to Deb and Suzy for this great challenge.  I had so much fun with my kit this month from Deb.  Be sure and check out the other Classy Card Ladies below and see what they did with the image.

PIP Challenge #2131

Happy Monday!  August is here and so are the dog days of summer.  Getting a small break from the hot weather this week so we are enjoying it.

Time for another Challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This weeks challenge is being sponsored by Star Stampz.

For my card today I decided to use the stamp "Beach Days" because it is still all about summer and fun in the sun.

The designer papers are "Splash" from Echo Park.  It seemed to work well with my fun in the sun theme.  I colored this adorable image with my copic markers.  The circle die is called Folk Edge Circles by Pink Fresh.  I added a little bit of yellow ribbon and a few enamel dots to accessorize the card.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure and check out what the rest of the design team did with the adorable images this week over at PIP Challenges.

Challenge Your Stash

Today's card is for our Challenge Your Stash group over on Splitcoaststampers.  We are to create a project with supplies from our stash.  Vickie was our hostess this month and she selected our theme to be using Watercoloring to celebrate International Watercolor Month.

I used the adorable image from My Favorite Thing Stamps called TI Flutterby Friends.  I used my Altenew watercolors on the background and images.  The scalloped die is by Waffleflower.  I used a little wink of stella on my wings for sparkle.

Thanks Vickie for a great challenge.  I always love pulling out my watercolors as a different way to color.  I really need to use it more to improve my technique.

PIP Challenge #2129

Today's card is for our Challenge #2129 over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge Blog.  This weeks challenge is being sponsored by CAS-UAL Fridays Stamps.

During the summer I am always intrigued by all the butterflies and dragonflies that I see.  Of course it seems like there are fewer of them all the time.  Could be living in the city and not much food for them.

For my card today I am using the stamp set "Everyday Dragonflies" from CAS-UAL Fridays Stamps.

For my background I used a watercolor looking paper by Craft Consortium.  Sure saves time by not having to do the background but it is fun to do.  I then stamped both of the dragon flies and the sentiment on the card.  This is a quick card to make if you need a birthday card in a hurry.

Thanks to CAS-UAL Fridays for sponsoring PIP Challenges this week.  Be sure and check out all the wonderful stamps in their store.

Retro Rubber Challenge #162

I decided to do a second post today because I found this fun sketch challenge over at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  I love sketch challenges and trying to find a way to use papers and images that I haven't used in a while.

Another part of the challenge was to use an old stamp.  Well I sure do have alot of those.
For my card I pulled out this old Stampin Up Stamp set that I have always loved. It is called Circle of Spring.  I purchased it back in 2017.  The sentiment is from Stampendous called Birthday Wish.  Not sure or the year but I have had it along time.

So thanks to Retro Rubber Challenge Blog for coming up with a new and fun challenge this week.

Classy Card Ladies

It was Jeanette and Kelly's turn to come up with a theme for our Classy Card Ladies this month.  They decided our theme would be "In the Clouds".  Jeanette sent a wonderful bag of goodies to inspire my card this month.

To make my card I started with the Darice Clouds embossed page in SU Ballet Blue.  I added glue and glitter to the clouds so them would stand out.  I then added the balloons from Fun Stampers Journey Fly Away stamp set that I had colored with my copic markers.  The clouds are from Fun Stampers Journey Cloud Dreams.  I gave them a little copic color and then added some sparkle with my wink of stella markers.  The glittery ribbon is from Stampin Up.  I added the sentiment in the center of the scalloped rectangle and then added a few sequins from the goodie bag to finish off my card.

This is what the other girls came up with on the Diamonds and Pearls teams.

PIP Challenge #2127

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July.  It is nice and warm here which always reminds me of the 4th of July.  Hot weather and watermelon at picnics are memories of summers of my childhood.

Over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies, there is a new challenge starting this week.  This week is sponsored by one of my favorite stamp companies "Newtons Nook Designs".

For my card today I used the stamp set "Loads of Blooms" which is one of my favorite stamps to color.
I started with a piece of 4 x 5 1/4" piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar white paper and stenciled a cloud background using Broken China Distress Inks.  I then cut out a grass die I had and added to the bottom.  Of course I thought my card needed some sunshine so I added a sun die.  I colored the image and the flowers with my copic markers and then fussy cut them out.  As always I love anything Newtons Nook comes up with.  Such great artwork.

Thanks for stopping by.  I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

PIP Challenge #2125

Today I am thinking "Summer" for my card for Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge #2125.  It has been extremely hot and humid this week in Kansas so I am thinking of ways to cool down.  Today PIP Challenges is being sponsored by Gerda Steiner Designs.

The design team was given the image "Mouse with Drink" to work with this week.  Well I decided my drink would be lemonade because of the heat and how refreshing it sounded when I was making this card.

I found some papers from Echo Park called A Slice of Summer which worked perfect for my card.

Have a great week and be sure and check out the digital stamps at Gerda Steiner Designs.  They are always so fun to work with.

Classy Card Ladies

June 15 sure rolled around quickly and this means it is time for our Classy Card Ladies showdown.  Kelly is our hostess this month and she sure has a perfect challenge for us.  June brings warmer weather and alot of trips to the pool and lakes in the Midwest.

When I first read Kelly's challenge I thought What???  She chose our theme to be "Salt Life" .  Well this longtime Kansas girl had never heard of that saying.  I even looked up the definition in an Urban Dictionary.  Originally it was a sticker on the back of cars used to denote a surfer, bodyboarder or general beach bum whose life centered around the ocean or related beach going activities.  The trend has spread to senior citizens, wanna be hipsters, soccer moms, and other person wishing to inform the world that yes, they too have visited the beach at some point in life and they have the sticker to prove it.

This image is from Photo Play Tulla and Norbert's Excellent Adventure Collection.  The designer papers are also from that line.  I had the MFT beach builders die and decided to use it for the water, sand and palm tree.

So thanks to Kelly for a great challenge and for enlightening this Kansas gal.  I even laughed to myself this week driving around town and noticed a car in front of me with a "Salt Life" sticker.

This is what the other girls came up with on the Diamonds and Pearls teams.

Creative Crew

This month's theme for our Creative Crew group comes from Terry and her theme is Thanks Snow Much.  What a fun theme but I hope this do...
