Rubbernecker Ethel

Okay I have been bad, bad, bad.  My poor neglected blog.  Today's post is a card that I made for a challenge over at SCS.  This was our December image that we were to make in to a card.  When I saw the sketch challenge over at Sketch Saturday I thought it would fit perfect with this image.

I liked this card so well, I just might have to give it to my sister in law for her birthday.  She would appreciate the humor in this card.

Twisted Tuesday Challenge

Todays' challenge over at Twisted Tuesday is to make a tag or something with a tag on it.  The twist is to use something that makes you smile.  I loved this challenge.  It doesn't show up on the picture very well but glitter is what makes me smile.  I used it on the background and the snowflakes.  The cute little snowman is a digital from Two Paper Divas.  The digital set is called Flakey Friends.  I am really getting in to the whole digital thing.  I need more practice but storage is a breeze.

Happy Birthday Vannessa

I made this card for my dear friend Vannessa.  I always want her card to be just right because she is a true artist.  I wish I could remember where I got this digital image but it is perfect because she has beautiful irises at her house and always sends beautiful pictures of them.  We call our little group the Iris Buds.

The bow is a new die from MFT that I simply love.

Well happy birthday Vannessa.  Here's to many more.

Sketch Saturday Challenge #237

Two Paper Divas have this new snowman image for sale.  The set is called Flakey Friends.  I love it and have several projects planned using the images in the set.

I really liked the sketch this week at Sketch Saturday so I decided to use it for one of my last minute Christmas Cards I am making.

Happy Birthday Debbie

I am a little late in posting this card but I made this card for my friend Debbie whose  birthday was last week.  I had contacted Mary Ellen at Dearie Dolls to see if she would do a digital scrapbooker image for me and this is what she came up with.
Isn't she just adorable?  If you haven't been to Dearie Dolls to see her digitals, you must stop over.  I just wish I had the time to do them all.

Twisted Tuesday Challenge

Todays challenge over at Twisted Tuesday Challenge was to use white on white.  The twist of the challenge was to use a snowflake somewhere.  I had to add a little silver to make it pop.  I used the Stampin Up snowflake embossing folder and added extra snowflakes with glitter on top.  A little white late and some sparkle thread adds to this card.

This is such a fun challenge.  Hop on over the Twisted Tuesday Challenges and give this weeks' challenge a try.

Marker Holder

I have some extra copic markers around my house and decided that I would try and make a fabric holder and use up some of that fabric I have sitting at home.  Below is what it looked like when completed.

When you open up you will see that there are 2 sides to put your markers.  There is an extra piece of fabric to cover the markers and when the markers are sitting up, it will not slide on the table.
Here you will see that this will hold up to 32 markers.

Isn't this great how you can see the markers as they sit up.
If I ever get energetic and decide to make some more, I thought it would be great to color coordinate my markers.  So I should put all my green and pink ones in this carrier.
I guess we will see how many more I make.

Class Fun

I taught my class at Remember This Remember That yesterday and had a great time.  It was wonderful having alot of my supportive friends in class.  Above are the treats that I made for all my students.  I always make them a thank you for coming to class.  I included some of my dark chocolate marble bark which has toasted almonds, dried cherries, white chocolate and dark chocolate.

Below is what I made for all my stamping buddies.  I went to Michaels and bought those $1 calendars and then personalized them for all my friends.  I thought they turned out pretty cute.  I even have one for myself.

Birthday Cards

These two cards were made for a challenge group that I am in on SCS.  They send you the image and then you do what you want with that image.
Both of these cards are by Art Impressions.  They have such great personality.  This one above is my yoga girls.  I used Rose Red by Stampin Up cardstock for the base and the designer paper is by Echo Park Hello Summer.  I just love the colors in that set.
This card I call my dancing divas.  I even added a little glitter to the tutus.  I used the same paper to make this card.  These are going to make the perfect birthday cards.

I hope to have more to publish this week.  Busy busy behind the scenes.

Happy Birthday Michelle

It sure seems like there are alot of birthdays right now.  I have been busy making birthday cards.  Thank goodness for Dearie Dolls Digital Stamps.  If you are in to digitals, this is the place to go.  It still amazes me that she offers these digital stamps for free.  I made this card for a challenge on SCS.  They supplied the sketch and this is what I came up with.  Isn't she adorable?

Well I have been busy making cards this week so I should have lots of things to post on my blog.

Keep watching.

Happy Birthday Patty

Well, where does the time go.  I have been quite busy behind the scenes.  I have been making alot of birthday cards and getting them in the mail as soon as they are completed.  I took a picture of Patty's birthday card and finally getting around to posting a picture of it.  I found this image at Dearie Dolls and decided it would be perfect for a card for Patty.  The fence, bird and bird house are all from Papertrey Ink.

I hope Patty had a great birthday and didn't mind that it was a day late.

Thinking Christmas

Today I am posting pictures of 2 Christmas cards I made for a swap at SCS.  The theme was Santa so each of my cards has Santa in them.  This first card is a cute little Santa image from Papertrey Ink.  The stamp set is called Tiny Treats Christmas. All of the images so it was easy for find a Santa in this set.  The paper is Snow Festival from Stampin Up.

This card was from a set I bought at a garage sale at our local scrapbooking store.  This set was called Holiday Expressions and there are so many cute images on that set.  You can't really tell in the picture but I used a glitter pen for his beard and around the trim on his coat.

So this is a start to my Christmas cards.  I have one more to post this week that I am working on.  Now it off to work on birthday cards.

Twisted Tuesday Challenge

Today's challenge over at Twisted Tuesday is to make a creation with a man in mind.  The twist is to use your tools.  This card was designed by my dear friend Vannessa.  We made these at a crop and I thought it was the perfect card for my dad.  My favorite part of the card was to use the silver paper and emboss it to make it look like tire tread.

Even the inside of the card is stamped with nails and screws.  I think this makes the best man card.

Happy Birthday Brandon

My sweet nephew Brandon is 8 years old today so I had to make a birthday card for him.  He has a yellow dog named Remmi so I had to put a dog in his card.  I just love this image from Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps.   She just has the cutest images over there and they are all free.  If you haven't been to her site, please go and check it out.  She has an image for every occasion.

So Happy 8th Birthday to Brandon.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!  Today I would normally post a picture of a halloween card that I made.  Well I have either sent the one card I made or did not complete other cards I started so I decided to post pictures of the 2 cards I received in the mail.
This card was made by my friend Cass.  I just love this sweet little witch on this card.  Definitely a cute card.
This card was sent to me by my friend Kathy Curry.  She is just so talented with her copic coloring.  I love the sentiment on this card.

So I hope everyone has a safe Halloween.

Twisted Tuesday Challenge

Today over at Twisted Tuesday Challenges, they are having a "Anything Goes" challenge so that should be lots of fun.  I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with on this challenge.

I chose a birthday card that I made for my mom.  The image is from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I know my mom will be excited to get it.

Anything but a card

Today over at Twisted Tuesday Challenge, we are having a challenge to do anything but a card.  I decided to make these darling little halloween treat packages.  I made several for my nieces and nephews and co-workers.

I started with a piece of black cardstock 3 1/4 inches x 9 1/2 inches.  I then scored it at 3, 3 1/2 and 7 1/2 inches. I scallop punches the side that was the smallest.  I then cut pieces of designer paper 3 x 2 3/4, 3 x 3 3/4 and 3 x 1 1/2 inches.  I then cut two holes at the top for my ribbon and added what dies I had at home from matching designer paper.  The dies, stamps and sentiment are all from Papertrey Ink.  This went together very fast and  I think everyone will enjoy the reeces pieces I put in the little bag.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Today's card was made using the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  I love this sweet little witch.  She was a challenge card from a group I am in on SCS.  I had also received some goodies from a group of gals in SCS and was able to use them in this card.  I just love these bright colors for Halloween.
Thanks to Linda for this cute image.

Goodbye

Today I made a card for a friend who is moving on at work.  She has worked with us for several years and I have truly enjoyed her friendship.  Not only is she a sweet person  but she also enjoys scrapbooking and card making like I do.  Lauren, I wish you the very best as you move on to new challenges.

I used the seed packet stamp from Two Paper Divas.  I also cut out an oval spellbinder die and stamped the flower image (also from Two Paper Divas).  I just love the way the card turned out.  It could be that I love the color pink and black background just makes it stand out more.

I decided to enter this card in the following challenges.
Kenny K's Krafty Krew - Think Pink
Glitter n Sparkle Challenge - Buttons and Bows
My Time to Craft:  It's Recipe Time - 1 Ribbon, 2 Images, 3 Papers

Boss's Day

Not sure how many people celebrate Boss's Day but it is Tuesday, October 16.  I offered to make a card for our department to sign.  I used the Jar stamp from Two Paper Divas.  It is endless what you can do with a jar.  One of my favorite embellishments to add are the MFT rolled flowers.  I would put them on every card if I could.  I decided to enter this card in the following challenges.
Craftymess Challenge Blog - Anything Goes
TotallyPaperCrafts - Make Your Own Flowers

Be sure and check back later this week because I will be posting a picture of another card I made for a friend.  I just don't want to spoil the surprise for her.

Christmas Tray

Gee - can we really think Christmas already?  I finally completed my Christmas tray for a class at Remember This Remember That.  I cut the letters out with my cricket and then used several dies that seem to work perfectly for this tray.  I decided to have each letter coordinate with something that starts with that letter.

I had to take this picture with my cell phone because the batteries had died on my camera.  I am amazed it took that great of a picture.  I have never tried that.  The Candle, Holly, Tree and Mittens are from Two Paper Divas digital sets.   One is Winter Time and the other one is Christmas Collection which is not quite available yet.  These are some great sets.

This class will be on Friday, November 2 from 1-3pm.  Come join me if you can.

Twisted Tuesday Challenge

I am so excited to announce that I have been chosen to be on the design team for Twisted Tuesday Challenges.  They have some of the best challenges around.  What fun I am going to have on this design team.

Today's challenge is a farm theme with the twist to add grass.  Well what an easy one for me because my sister raises chickens and I had to make a card for her.  I found some paper that looked like chicken wire to me and added the Rustic Rooster from Stampin Up as the image.  The grass was one of the Martha Stewart fern punches cut apart.  I love the way each branch looks like grass.

So lets see what everyone else can come up with for this challenge.

Great news

Well what a fun weekend I have had.  I went to the CKC Convention in KC with my sister and some friends and had a great time.  I also was able to meet some great ladies from Indiana.

My poor blog has been so neglected because of vacations and projects behind the scenes that I have been working on.  Today I am posting a picture of some bookmarks I made for a swap.  I used the PTI bookmark stamp set for these.

And now the great news.  I have been selected to be on the design team for Twisted Tuesday Challenges.  What an honor it is to be part of their team.

Be sure and check back on Tuesday for my first card made for the design team.

Twisted Tuesday Challenge

Today's card was made for my husband for his birthday.  He loves to fish so I decided to make his card with a fishing theme.  I checked at Twisted Tuesday Challenge and noticed that the card would definitely fit in with their challenge this week.  The challenge this week was to have something that flies on it and the twist was to use 3 different embellishments.  On my card I decided to use fishing flies for the flying theme and several embellishments on the card.  The digital image is from Dearie Dolls.  She has the most wonderful free images on her blog.  I love them all.  My card design was a recessed window design which you can find on Splitcoast Stampers HERE.

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #163

I guess it is getting to be time to work on my halloween cards.  I went to Tuesday Morning Sketches to see what their challenge is this week and thought my card would be perfect for that challenge.  I love the papers from Authentique.  I used the orange paper with writing and the spider border from that set.  I used a circular Happy Halloween Stamp which I love and I know I am going to be using that one more often.  So I have one card down and a few more to do.

Twisted Tuesday Challenge 2TC23

Today's card was made for a co-worker who lost her husband to liver cancer this week.  This card fit perfectly in to the Twisted Tuesday Challenge which was to make a sympathy card.  I used vanilla card stock and embossed it with the tulip frame from Stampin Up.  I then used a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock for the frame of the stamped image.  I stamped the image with a swirl stamp from SU.  The butterfly was stamped on more calypso coral cardstock and punched out with the SU butterfly punch.  The sentiment was from PTI.  I think the additional pearl rhinestones completed this card.

Birthday Card for Sandi

This card was made for my sister Sandi who is having a birthday today.  I was looking for inspiration in this card and I found a couple challenges that would fit this card.  The first one was Tuesday Morning Sketches with a sketch that worked perfect in this layout.  The other challenge was Twisted Tuesday Challenge which was to make a card with bright colors for someone you love.

This cute image is from Dearie Dolls.  She has the cutest images and I found this one with sisters on her blog.  Please check her images out because they have such personality.  The papers I used were from Country Garden Collection by Bo Bunny.  I also used SU Island Indigo to make the colors pop.  I colored the image with my copics and used some PTI die cuts for the flowers and the border.

Birthday Card

Today I am posting a picture of a birthday card I made for a friend who has horses.  I used one of the die cuts from Heartfelt creations.  I tried my hand with the brayer and really wish I had time to try again. But as usual, I have to put in the mail tomorrow so it will just have to do.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #161

Today I needed to make a card to send to a friend.  I found a cute little stamped image I had in my stash and then went to Tuesday Morning Sketches for inspiration for my card.  The sketch to use was the following image.

I think I am stuck in a pink rut because every card I make is pink.  Not sure what is up with that.  The designer paper is Lost & Found - Madison Avenue.  So this is my finished card.

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge

Today's card was for a image challenge on SCS sent to me from Imke in Germany.  This image is called "Pot o'Orchids for Lulu" from Stamping Bella.  I'm not sure if there is a pink orchid but mine had to be because I love the color pink.  The designer paper is Lost & Found - Madison Avenue.  It is all pinks and chocolate.  After I colored the image, I went to Tuesday Morning Sketches for some inspiration in what to do with my image. This week you had the choice of 4 different sketches.  I think this one worked perfect for my image.

Halloween Shadow Box

Well I finally finished my Halloween Shadow Box for a class that I am hoping to teach at Remember This Remember That in Gardner on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 1pm - 3pm.  I know day time isn't a good time for classes but I am really hoping that some of my friends will be able to attend this class.  Most of you know that I didn't get enough attendance for my August Class so I am really hoping for enough people this time to have the class.
This is going to be such a fun class because of all the dies you get to work with.  Just think that in 2 hours you will have this great framed art for your wall.
I have put these cards in the frame so they are temporary and I have another group of cards planned for Christmas.

Be sure and call 856-6030 to sign up for this class.  I believe the fee is going to be $17 which covers all the cards.  The frame will be separate and not sure of a price yet on that.  Please join me for some fun.  I have a special gift from me for each participant.

Organizing my Dies

Do you dies look like this?  I finally decided that I needed to organize myself a little bit.  I have seen several examples of ways to manage them but this one works the best for me.  I went to the closest discount store near my house and bought this double CD case.  I also bought some magnetic sheets.
At first I was using the whole sheet like the ovals below and then I decided that it was kind of expensive to do it that way so I just put a few strips in different places on the card stock and they held just fine.   I put the names on the outside of the pocket so I could get them back in the space they belong.  I also divided them into spellbinders, MFT and Memory Box. I think I will have to do a separate one for my Papertrey Ink Dies because I have so many.    So this is my attempt at organization.

PIP Challenge #2409

I am a little late in posting my card for Pammies Inky Pinkies Challenge #2409 .  Our internet was down all day yesterday.  Oh the joys of...
