Challenge Your Stash

Well today is reveal day for our "Challenge Your Stash" group on Splitcoaststampers.  Barb was our hostess this month and she asked us to pick one of the Color Challenges from Splitcoaststampers.  I decided to go with CC486 which included the colors Calypso Coral, Olive Green and Daffodil Delight.
I first cut out the flowers and leaves which are from the MFT Stitched Blooms Die set.  I just love this set.  The stitching is so detailed on each die.  I then put 2 colors of distress oxide on my vinyl mat and sprayed them with water.  I then dipped each die cut in the mixture and let them dry.  I put a layer of Squeezed Lemonade Distress oxide in the center of the white front to give it a little color for the background.  I then layered the flowers on the card.  I added the sentiment die (Creative Expressions) and stamped the sentiment on the bottom of the card.

I had cut 1/2" off the bottom of the front of my card and added a 3/4" piece of striped paper on the bottom inside of my card to give it a different look.

Thanks Barb for a great challenge this month.

PIP Challenge #1829

Today's Challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies is sponsored by Polkadoodles.

For my card today I have chosen to use the adorable image "Sugarpops - Party Dress/Birthday" from the Polkadoodles store.
I printed off the image on my Canon printer and then colored it with my copic markers.  I added a few flowers to accent this sweet little girl.

Hope you enjoyed my card and that you join us in the challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies because one lucky winner will win 3 free digital images from Polkadoodles.

Dueling Darlings

I am so excited about my cards today.  The Dueling Darlings on Splitcoaststampers has a monthly challenge and I loved what Terry and Terry has come up with this month.

The theme this month is bees.  Did you know that the greatest threat to bees in North America today is Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD)?  This is where entire hive of bees suddenly disappear.  In the early 2000s there was a sharp increase, especially in North American.  There is still uncertainty about the cause or causes of CCD;  disease, mites, increased use of neonicotinoid pesticides and fungal infections are all possibilities.  There are often multiple stressors, none of which is lethal enough by itself, but the combination is too much for the bees.

The annual failure rate of honeybee colonies averages around 30% in North America.  Honeybee losses are potentially devastating economically since bee pollination is vital to at least one-third of crops worldwide.  So in honor of our honeybees, I have made 3 cards with my kit.

I used the following in making my cards.
Hero Arts "Busy as a Bee" colored with copic markers
Designer Paper from The Paper Studio
SU Hexagon Hive die
SU Hexagons Dynamic on vellum sponged with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide
The paper Studio gold doily
Several embellishments

Thanks to Terry and Terry for making us aware of the honeybees plight and offering up a great challenge this month.

PIP Challenge #1827

Well I am several days late in posting my creation for Pammie's Inky Pinkies this week.  Totally flew past me.  Where oh where does the time go?

This weeks sponsor is Di's Digi Stamps .  Be sure and check there store out because they have adorable images.

For my card today I decided to post a picture of a bookmark card I made.  I used the Adorn It Paintable bookmark image and colored it with my watercolor pencils.  I just love the way it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Crafters of Faith

Since today is the 7th of the month, it is time to post my card for our Crafters of Faith group on Splitcoaststampers.  Sue was the hostess this month and she chose Proverbs 3:5-6 for our scripture this month.  "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight"

Our challenge was to make a card that illustrates a time we trusted in the Lord or a path you walked in faith.

Many people who know me are aware that I like to move every couple of years.  Well in each move I have had to trust in the Lord to help us make the right decision with our move.  It is usually a stressful time with wondering if you have done the right thing.  Well if you put your trust in the Lord, things always have a way of working out.

So for my card for the challenge I made a Happy New Home card.  I'm sure I will be able to use it at some time.  The house and trees are a Two Paper Divas Stamp that I colored with my copic markers and then fussy cut them out.  The center die is from Waffle Flower called Stitched Flower Center Inverted.  I also used the Memory Box Swirly Cloud die and a small heart punch for the red heart.  I used Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide to color the center of the card.

Thanks to Sue for a great challenge.

Creative Crew

This month's theme for our Creative Crew group comes from Terry and her theme is Thanks Snow Much.  What a fun theme but I hope this do...
