My husband asked me to make his brother a birthday card and I had to think about it for a bit because I guess that means I can't use flowers, butterflies, etc. All the wonderful things that I love to adorn my cards with. I also noticed that Challenges by AR are having a "Make It Masculine" challenge. This should fit in just perfect.
I used the "Masculine Motifs" stamp set from Papertrey Ink and for the first time I used the wood paper. It was fun to work with.
So here you have a simple masculine card. I'm sure my brother in law will appreciate it.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #81
Over at Hand Stamped Sentiments they are having a challenge featuring banners. I thought this would be a fun card to submit. I made the banner using the large oval punch from Stampin Up.
I hope to be very creative this weekend so be sure and check back on my blog.

Molded Flowers
This is a card that I made for a friend using my new molded flowers. I found molds over at Mold Muse and decided that it looked like fun. I bought some sculpy clay and went to town. You roll up little balls and press in to mold. You then bake for 20 minutes at 275 degrees. Very easy and so much fun to make.
On this card I also stamped the background with an assorted doily collection stamp from Stella and Rose (My Mind's Eye collection). I love the way the background looks like paper. I would like to look in to that a little more.
So I am off to find my eggplant Parmesan recipe so I can fix it for dinner. Have a great week.

2011 Christmas Cards
It has been really hard for me to come up with 2 Christmas Cards for a swap that I am doing. With a little help from my friend Susan I was able to complete these 2 cards. I had to make 11 of each design and send off. Can't wait to see what I will get back. I used 2 of the new stamp sets from Stampin Up out of their Christmas catalog. One was The Sounding Joy and the other one was Forest Festivities. I love the new designer paper in the Christmas catalog also. So enjoy my first taste of the holidays. I hope to get a few more things done this weekend. We shall see.

2012 Calendar
It has been a while since I have posted anything on my blog. Well when you see this project, you will know why. I love making calendars for gifts and decided to make one for a friend. I got the template for the calendars at Cat's Creations. She is so nice to offer these templates for free. I used the stampable CD 6 x 6 template. I went to Michaels and purchased a 4 x 6 acrylic frame.
I used the Year of Flowers Collection Stamp Set from Papertrey Ink and sat down one evening and started coloring in with my copics. I started with August so my friend could start using it now.
You will see my theme is flowers and butterflies. For September I used a Martha Stewart Butterfly punch. The border for September is also PTI. For October I used some of the Nestability shapes that I had on hand. The butterfly is from PTI.
The papers are all from a 6 x 6 Stella Rose pad. Loved these colors and they seemed to go so well with my coloring. I used a Stampin Up butterfly set for November and December.
For January I used a stamp and punch from SU and for February I used a single Butterfly stamp I had and heat embossed with black. I colored in with my copics.
I think March and April were my favorite months. March - because the yellow just pops and April because I love the Sweet peas and the peach color. The border is a Martha Stewart Punch.
For May I used a butterfly stamp from Stampin Up and a cute border punch that I purchased at Michaels. For June I used the butterfly die from Stamp Up as my background.
And to finalize my set, I used another SU stamp for the butterfly and some nestabilities for my flower set.
Well this was my project for the week. I hope you enjoy. Hopefully I will make one for myself one of these days.

Monthly Image Swap
I wish I would of taken a picture of the sheet of images I received in the mail so you could get an idea of what I had to start with. It really stretched my idea of creativity. I tried to make the background a log cabin because I truly would love to live in one some day. This is my version of my little scrapbooking store.
