Creative Crew

This month's theme for our Creative Crew group comes from Terry and her theme is Thanks Snow Much.  What a fun theme but I hope this doesn't mean we have alot of snow in our future!  HA!  I do not like cold or snow.  I love warmth....  But I do have to admit that the theme Terry came up with is lots of fun.

The stamp set used for my card is called "Bear Hugs" from Taylored Expressions.  We just used scraps of designer paper for the background.  I thought it would be fun to just use different strips of paper for the card.  The gems are from The Paper Studio.

Thanks to Terry for this great challenge.  You can see what the rest of the team did by clicking on their name below.

PIP Challenge #2449

December really seems to be winding down.  Christmas will be here before you know it.  This week's challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenges is being sponsored by Newtons Nook Designs.

I absolutely love their stamps over at Newton's Nook Designs.  I had intended to use something new I purchased from Newton's Nook Designs but it did not arrive in time which means I waited too long to order.  I am kind of a last minute gal.
For my card today I am using the stamp set "Frosty Folks" from Newton's Nook.  Unfortunately this stamp is retired and no longer available but I just loved it and had to use it.  If you are looking for cute snowmen images, go to Newtons Nook HERE.  The faces on these adorable snowmen are just so cute.

I colored the image with my copic markers and then fussy cut the image out.  I used some scrap pieces of designer paper that I had and came up with this cute little card.  I am happy to say I have another Christmas card for my stash.  Now if they would all get mailed I would be a happy camper.

I am also entering this card in Inky Paws Challenge where you were to post a holiday card you are working on.

Hopefully my new stamps and dies will arrive this week and I will be able to post another card.  In the mean time be sure and join us over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenges and create something for the challenge this week.

Challenge Your Stash

Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.  Mine will be relaxing at home with a turkey dinner in the evening.

Today is also reveal day for our Challenge Your Stash on Splitcoaststampers.  I just love this group because it challenges me to dig through my stash and use something I haven't used in a while.

Our challenge today comes from Lorraine and her them for us is "Think Pink".  This was the perfect challenge because I needed to make a birthday card for a friend of mine.

The image I used was from Birthday Blooms by Stampin Up.  I'm not sure what year this stamp is from but I do know I have had it for a while.  I just love florals because it gives me a chance to pull out my copics and do some coloring.  The designer paper is from Simple Vintage Meadow Flowers.  I found some pink gems in my stash along with a small piece of pink ribbon to finish up the card.

What a fun theme this month.

PIP Challenge #2447

Can you believe we are winding down the month of November?  Where does the time go?  Todays challenge over at Pammies Inky Pinkies Challenges is sponsored by The Cutting Cafe.

I have decided that I cannot have too many Christmas cards so I decided to make another one for the challenge this week.

For my card I used the set "Fun with Frosty the Snowman" set.  You get so many fun stamped images with this set.   I first printed off the blue Brrr page which fit my card perfectly.  I then printed the snowmen and colored them with my copic markers.  This was such a fun card to make.

Thanks to The Cutting Cafe for providing us with such inspiration.

Newtons Nook Inky Paws Challenge

I decided to pull out one of my favorite Newtons Nook stamp sets and make a card.  I found inspiration at the Inky Paws Challenge with this sketch challenge.

I always love a sketch challenge because it really challenges me to use some of my scrap papers.  This makes it so easy.

For my card I used the stamp set "Sips & Stories".  When I made this card I was thinking of colder days and sitting in my chair with my kitty on my lap, drinking hot chai tea and wrapped in a warm blanket.  Sounds like the perfect winter day to me.

After stamping the image, I colored it with my copic markers.  I found some scraps of paper and used the sketch above for my design.

Thanks to Newtons Nook for giving me inspiration this week.

Creative Crew

Since it is the 15th of the month, this means it is time for our Creative Crew bunch.  I was lucky enough to be the hostess this month.  I had looked at different celebrations in November and noticed that November 3-9 is National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week.  Since I adopted my 2 kitties 17 years ago from a local shelter, this is very special to my heart.

Little did I know that when I selected this theme that I would lose one of my kitties.  We believe he had cancer and just had not been himself the last year.  So double whammie for me.  I lost my dad and one of my kitties the same week.  My current kitty is lost without his brother.  He walks around the house meowing.  I have had cats all my life and have loved them from the beginning.  The worst part is saying goodbye.

So back to my theme.  November 15 is I love to Write Day so I decided to have kitties and books as my theme.

For my card I am using the following:
Newtons Nook Sips & Stories Stamp Set
Designer paper is Close to My Heart "Lovely"
The I love Book Die is by Newtons Nook Bookmark Die Set

I also asked the group to list a good book that they have read lately.  I am currently reading American Dirt and it is really good.

Be sure and check out the rest of the team to see what they came up with on this challenge.

PIP Challenge #2445

Happy Veterans Day to all.  This seems like an extra special Veterans Day since I lost my 92 year old dad last week.  He served in the Air Force from 1950-1954 and was very proud to be called a veteran.  So thank you to all those veterans out there.

Today Challenge for Pammies Inky Pinkies is being sponsored by Polkadoodles. For my card today I am using the Happy Snowmen Couple.

I had fun coloring the adorable image with my copic markers and then using a dotted hexagon die to cut the image out.  The designer paper is from Simple Stores Mix and a Mingle.  The sentiment is from MFT.

Thanks for stopping by and please give you favorite veteran a hug and tell them you appreciated their service.

Challenge Your Stash

Yesterday was reveal day for our Challenge Your Stash group on Splitcoaststampers.  It is always fun to see what our hostess comes up for to challenge us to create something from our stash.  I was lucky enough to be the hostess this month and I decided to challenge everyone to use one of your stencils you have gathering dust in your stash.

I am loving the Waffle Flowers Postage stamp and die sets.  I decided to use the Halloween stencils that I had purchased a while back.  It was so fun to do.  I just pulled out several of my distress oxide inks an started stenciling.  The stencils are all numbered so you just color one color at a time.  The extra cobwebs and sentiments are from the waffle flower matching stamp sets.

PIP Challenge #2443

Today over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenges, we have another fun challenge.  This weeks challenge is being sponsored by Lawn Fawn.

I have always been a big fan of Lawn Fawn Stamps because they have the cutest little images to work with to create a fun scene on your card.  For my card today I am using the stamp set "Sew Very Mice".
Since I am a sewer and a card maker, this stamp set really stood out to me.  I printed off the images and started coloring them with my copic markers.  I then used the matching dies to cut them out.  I used the Waffle Flower Postage Die and then started placing my adorable little images on to the card.  I used a piece of black cardstock and white embossing powder for the sentiment.

Thanks for visiting my blog and be sure and check out PIP Challenges this week for some great projects that are submitted for the challenge.

PIP Challenge #2441

Time again for another challenge from Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenges.   This week is being sponsored by

Formerly Penguin Palace

There are so many fun digital images to pick from in their online store but I decided to use "Puddles of Fun" for my card today.
I colored the image with my copic markers and then cut it out with a circle die.  The fun designer papers are from Stampin Up called Rain or Shine.  I love this paper because of the rain drop background.  Thought it would work perfect for the card.  The puddle was also part of the stamp.  One of the things I like about Sunbird Spark (Penguin Palace) is that when you purchase the file you get a Bonus ready to print page where the sizes are already made for you to make an A2 card.  Sure makes it easy.  Just print and you are ready to color.

I hope you join us over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies for a fun challenge this week.

Time for Challenge #2439 over at Pammies Inky Pinkies Challenges.

 Sponsored by
 PIP CHALLENGES
The prize will be a $10 Gift Certificate from
My Favorite Things.

It's a COLOR Theme
For my card today I took a few liberties with the colors to use.    I used the stamp set "Pick of the Patch" by My Favorite Things.
I stamped off the images and then colored them with my copic markers.  It was so fun to bring this stamp set to life.  I sponged the background and then started placing the little images on the card.

I hope to see you over at PIP Challenges and join us this week for this fun challenge.

Happy Fall

The weather is getting cooler here in Kansas and fall is in the air.  This is my favorite time or year with all the crisp weather, fall festivals and beautiful colors of the trees.  Sue was our hostess this month in our Challenge your Stash group on Splitcoaststampers.  She challenged us to make a fall card using an embossing technique as a focal point of our card.

The stamp set I used was from Hero Arts Fall Fox.  I love foxes and thought this would be the perfect time to use this stamp set.  I colored the images with my copic markers and then started putting my card together.  The background is an oldie fall leaf embossing folder I used.  The designer papers are by Carta Bella "Welcome Autumn".  The leaves are from Cottage Cutz - Build a Grapevine Wreath.  I cut the scalloped circles out of the designer paper and started building my card.

Thanks to Sue for a great Challenge this month.

PIP Challange #2437

Today's challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenges is being sponsored by Pattie's Creations.

For my card today I am using Snowman #1 image.  I am trying to get a jump on my Christmas cards and thought this image was so cute to use this week.

I printed the image off on my printer and then colored it with my copic markers. I used a scallop oval die to cut the image out.   I found some Christmas paper scraps and used them for my background.  The sentiment is from Pink Fresh Basic Banners Christmas.  I added a few gems I had in my stash on the red paper.

I made another card using the same image but made it larger to cover the whole card front.  This is what I like about digital images.  You can make them any size you want.

If you look at Pattie's blog, you will see a coupon code on the top right of the page for 30% off.  You can't beat this deal.

I am entering this card in Pattie's challenge for the month.

Creative Crew September 2024

Today is post day for our Creative Crew Group over on Splitcoaststampers.  I have had my card done for several weeks but almost forgot to post it.  Barb was our hostess this month and she chose Newton's Nook Happy Hol-oween stamp for our image with the theme being "Halloween".

This was such a fun image to color with my copic markers.  The patterned papers are from Echo Park - Happy Halloween Line.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the team did with the image.

Inky Paws Challenge #231

I decided to sit down and make a Halloween card.  I found this unique sketch challenge over at Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #231.

For my card I decided to use the stamp set from Newton's Nook called Happy Howl-oween.  Iam sad to say I no longer see this stamp set in their store but there are still several adorable halloween images you can see HERE.

I stamped the image off and used the matching die to cut it out.  I then colored the image with my copic markers.  Such a fun challenge.

PIP Challenge #2435

Happy Labor Day!  I hope you are doing something fun & relaxing.  This weeks challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies is being sponsored by Varada Sharma.

She has some beautiful digital stamps to pick from in her Etsy Store.  I decided to go with Doodled Flowers because I just love flowers of all kinds.

I printed off the image on my printer and then colored it with my copic markers.  I always love the look of the image when I highlight with my BG000 Copic Marker.  I then used the Studio Light Nested Rectangle to cut out the image.  The background paper is from The Sunflower Collection by Crafters Companion.

I printed off the Happy Birthday from the same stamp set and went around the edges with my BG000 copic marker.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope to see you over at PIP Challenges.

Challenge Your Stash

I can't believe how fast the month of August has gone.  It brings us to the 28th of the month which means it is time to Challenge My Stash.  I love this group on Splitcoaststampers because they always come up with some great challenges.  Suzy was our hostess this month and she came up with a great challenge of "Sunflowers".  Since it is the state flower of Kansas, I seem to have alot of sunflower stamps.  The sunflowers are in full bloom here in Kansas and looking beautiful.

The stamp I used for my card is "Power Poppy In Praise of Sunflowers".  I used my copic markers to color the image.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I used the Spellbinders Nested Postage Labels die  on the blue paper.  The background yellow is So Saffron by Stampiin Up.  I also added a few Pink Fresh Gems and a brown twine bow.

Thanks again for Suzy for a great challenge this month.

Inky Paws Challenge

It is terribly hot here so I have decided to start on some Christmas cards.  I never seem to have enough.  I went over to Newtons Nook Inky Paws Challenge for some inspiration.  Their challenge this week is a color challenge.

I thought it would be fun to take these colors and make them in to Christmas colors.

I matched up the colors in the picture above with my copic markers and colored these cute snowmen from a retired stamp set called Frosty Folks.  I am sad it is no longer in Newtons Nook inventory.  But there are several cute snowman stamps to pick from on their site.

So one more Christmas card done.  Thanks to Inky Paws Challenge for helping me with some inspiration to get me started.

This weeks challenge over at Pammies Inky Pimkies is being sponsored by one of my favorite stamp companies.  Newtons Nook Designs always have such adorable stamps and dies.

                                                                 Newton

For my card this week I decided to use the "Lilac" stamp set.  Lilacs are my favorite flower and I decided this would be the perfect stamp to play with.

I colored the images with my copic markers and then used the matching dies to cut them out.  The designer paper I used was from The Sunflower collection of Crafters Companion.  I used a scalloped rectangle die for the purple background and the center green is from the Oval Frames Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs.  I then added a few gems on the corners of the card and the butterflies from the same Lilac stamp set.

Be sure and check out Newton's Nook Designs for some wonderful card ideas.

Creative Crew

This months challenge for our Creative Crew group comes from Jeanette.  What a great theme for the summer.  It's Hot! and the best thing to do in the summer is grill.  So this months' theme is Summertime Grillin.

This adorable image comes from CC Designs called BBQ.  It is stamped with Hero Arts Intense Black Ink on Accent Opaque 120# White Cardstock and colored with my copic markers.

The designer paper is Reminisce Camping Cookout.

I colored the image and then cut the square out.  I added the jagged square die and put the sentiment at the bottom of the card.  I added a few gems on the corners.

You can see what the rest of the team did with this challenge by clicking on their link below.

PIP Challenge #2431

Today's challenge over at Pammies Inky Pinkies is being sponsored by The Cutting Cafe.

It is always fun to see what we can come up with the files we are sent from The Cutting Cafe.  For my card today I decided to use the set "Under the Sea".

I printed off a few of the images on my printer and then colored them with my copic markers.  I decided to use some fun colors on my fish.    I used a circle die to cut out the fish image and then a larger circle die for the black cardstock.  I fussy cut the other images and placed it on my card.

Thanks to The Cutting Cafe for sponsoring us this week.

Creating! Challenge Your Stash

Today is reveal day for our Challenge your Stash group on Splitcoaststampers.  Maggie is our hostess this month and her challenge was to use an image of a fairy or something that flies.

I'm sorry to say that I don't know the name of this stamp.  When Vintage in KC (store I worked at) closed, Renee' gave me a bunch of unmounted Lilli of the Valley Ltd stamp.  I'm sure they are old so probably retired.  They have alot of adorable stamps on Lilli of the Valley website.  Just couldn't find this one.

I colored the image with my copic markers to match the paper The papers I used were from Echo Park "Have Faith"  I found this sentiment in a package called Rainbow Sentiments by Pinkfresh.  Thought it was the perfect sentiment for the image.  I added some stickles to the wings.

Thanks for stopping by to see my fun card for this month.
