Inky Paws Challenge

I am still making a few Christmas cards.  I never seem to have enough.  I went to Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge for Inspiration.  I found some stamps I have been wanting to use and came across the Holiday Haul set.

I just love this truck design.  I colored the image with my copic markers and then used the matching die to cut it out.  The sentiment is also from that stamp set.  The designer paper is called Christmas Time from Newtons Nook.

The challenge this week at Inky Paws challenge was a sketch challenge.  Below is the sketch they provided.
I always love a sketch challenge and seeing what I can come up with.  Thanks to Newton's Nook for always providing us with inspiration and challenging us to come up with a fun design.

Creative Crew Challenge

Just made it on the deadline for our Creative Crew Challenge.  This time of year is always busy and I never get everything done I think I will.  Our hostess this month is Darlene and she challenged us to create a Christmas card that features colors that are not traditionally used at Christmas.

So this is my versions of a non traditional Christmas card.  I went with the colors peach, purple and teal.  The designer paper is from Ink Drops-Dusk by Craft Consortium.  I used the darker version to cut out a wreath by Sunny  Studios called Snowflake Circle Frame.  I then colored the images from All Together Holiday by Taylored Expressions with my copic markers and arranged them on the wreath.  The ribbon is from Darlene's stash.  The sequins are from Close to My Heart.  The sentiment is from Altenew Happy Holidays stamp set.

I really had fun with the challenge this month.  It is always fun to challenge ourselves and create something out of the box.

Thanks Darlene for a great challenge.

PIP Challenge #2349

Do you believe Christmas is only 14 days away?  I hope you are all taking time to enjoy the season.  I have a few loose ends to tie up but I am basically ready.

I am excited about our sponsor this week for Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge #2349.  This week our sponsor is none other than Newton's Nook Designs which is one of my all time favorite stamp companies.  Maybe it is because of the adorable cat on their logo which reminds of the two I have at home.

For my project today I am using the stamp set "Snowman Greetings".  It was hard for me to decide which stamp set to use.  I have so many and they are all so cute.
I colored the image with my copic markers and then used the matching die to cut it out.  I added a couple hill layers of snow over the snowflake background.  I also added the fence in the background along with the trees and birds.  I love the way this card turned out.  I even used a little bit of stickles on the snow for effect.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card this week.  Be sure and visit Newton's Nook Designs for all their adorable stamp sets, dies and stencils.

PIP Challenge #2347

Today's challenge #2347 over at Pammies Inky Pinkies is being sponsored by The Cutting Cafe.  I am lucky enough to own a Brother Scan n Cut so the projects from The Cutting Cafe are perfect to use with the scan n cut.

For my project today I used The Snowman Shaker from the Christmas Shaker Cards.  All the pieces are given to you so I cut them out with my scan n cut and put together.  Very easy.
When you open up the snowman there is room for a holiday sentiment.

Be sure and check out all the different images you can purchase from The Cutting Cafe.  They are all so much fun.

Creative Crew

Well I am a day late for our Creative Crew post.  Time just got away from me yesterday.  Not sure why but time seems to be going so much faster than when I was younger.

Lorraine was our wonderful hostess this month and her theme for this month is "Thankful Thoughts".  It made me realize how many things I am thankful for.  On the top of my list is my Family and Friends who have been with me through thick and thin.

The image is "Autumntime" from CTMH.  I just loved coloring this image with my copic markers.  I then used the designer paper "Wicked Whimsy" for my background.  I cut a scalloped square and thought it would be cute to highlight the image.  I added the brown ribbon and the brown leaves at the side of the sentiment.

You can see what the rest of the team did with the challenge by clicking on their name below.

PIP Challenge #2345

Time for another challenge over at Pammies Inky Pinkies Challenges.  Todays challenge is being sponsored by Polkadoodles.

It is always hard for me to decide which adorable digital image to use for my card when looking at all the wonderful stamps on Polkadoodles website.  Since I need to be working on Christmas cards I have decided that I would use the image "Noel Christmas Mouse".

I printed off the image on my printer and then colored it with my copic markers.  Such a sweet image.  I added some Nuvo Glitter Drops on the hat for some glitter.  The designer paper I used was Santa's Workshop by Carta Bella.  The Merry Christmas sentiment is from Cool Christmas Greetings by My Favorite Things.  I added a few enamel dots on to the card.

Be sure and check out what the other design team members did for the challenge this week.

Since this is the fifth Monday of the month there is a special challenge.  The theme is the Color Peach.

I pulled out some of my fun Lawn Fawn products and got to work creating a card for the challenge this week.
I went through all my scraps of Peach colored papers and came up with this fun card.  I used the following Lawn Fawn products

Thanks to Lawn Fawn for being our sponsor this week.  Their stamps are so darn cute.  I see more on their website that I must have.  Be sure and check out the other creations made by the design team at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.

Challenge Your Stash

Suzy is our hostess this month for Challenge Your Stash group on Splitcoaststampers.  When I saw Suzy asked us to use a moon somewhere in my card.  When I saw that challenge, I thought oh I have the perfect stamp for this challenge.

This stamp was from Stamp It Crazy.  I hope this card puts a smile on your face.  It is intended as a funny joke.  Hope no one is offended by my card.  I added a few cut outs on my card.

Enjoy and have a laugh on me.

PIP Challenge #2341

Time again for another challenge over at Pammies Inky Pinkies Challenges.  Our design team was allowed to use any stamp for this particular challenge because it is being sponsored by PIP Challenges.

The lucky winner of this weeks challenge will win a $10 gift card to Sweet N Sassy stamps.

For my card today I decided to use the stamp set "In Praise of Sunflowers" by Power Poppy.  If you click the link of the name of the stamp, you will see that the image is currently free at Power Poppy.

I live in Kansas and Sunflowers are our State Flower.  I have always loved the cheerful color of these flowers.  I had fun coloring them with my copic markers.  I added a little trim to the card and liked the way it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you check out all the other design team members cards on PIP Challenges site.

Creative Crew

The 15th of the month sure came quickly for me.  Time just seems to fly by.  Our challenge today for our Creative Crew group was to use something you love.

I love October because of the beautiful fall leaves and a chill in the area.  Time for fall festivals and fall crops.  My sister does a crop at the end of the month called spooktakular.  It is alot of fun for all that come.  I have always loved making treat boxes or bags for this event or any other event I attend.  They are so much fun to make.

In the center you will see the treat bag I have made filled with some candy.  I had these cellophane bags in my stash and went to my scrap bag of halloween papers and just used up what I had.  The images are from Pretty Pink Posh called Halloween Signs.  I love Pretty Pink Posh because their stamps are just adorable and so nice to stamp with.  I stamped the images out and started coloring them with my copic markers.  I then used the matching dies to cut them out.  I then just threw some scraps together and came up with this cute little treat bag.

You can see the rest of the team's creations by clicking on their link below.

PIP Challenge #2339

This week's challenge for Pammie's Inky Pinkies challenges is being sponsored by Jan's Digi Stamps.

For my card this week I was able to use the digital image called "Pumpkin Blessings".  I printed off the image on my printer and then decided how I wanted to color the image.
I had a 6 x 6 pad of the designer paper from Carta Bella called Welcome Autumn.  What I liked about this paper was that there were different colors of pumpkins so I decided to incorporate that into my design for my card.  The sentiment is also from that stamp set.

I hope you check out Jan's Digi stamps because they are gorgeous.  Her halloween images are on sale right now so grab some while you can.

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges.

Create from Your Stash

Today is the day we are posting our creations for the Create From Your Stash group on Splitcoaststampers.  Maggie is our hostess this month and her challenge was to make a clean and simple card.  I thought this would be an easy challenge but of course I waited until the last minute to make my card.  I got my supplies out this morning and it is definitely clean and simple.

I love foxes and have had the Hero Arts Fall Fox Bundle set just sitting on my desk of stamps I want to use.  I stamped the fox in the corner with the leaves.  I then stamped the image on peel away tape also and put it over the fox so I could use my stencil brush around the outside of the fox.  I use Distress Ink in China Blue.  I then colored the image with my copic markers.  So easy and fun.

Thanks Maggie for a great challenge.

Creative Crew

This month's challenge for our creative crew bunch comes from Jeanette.  I really had to think hard on this challenge.  The September Theme is A Die that's Not a Die.  She sent me a large stitched scallop border die.  I really had to really use my thinking cap as to how I could use it in some other way than as a traditional die.

My first attempt was to make a card and use it as a border.  I cut out one side and then reversed it and cut out the other side.  You can see below the blue border I came up with using this technique.

I really wasn't happy with my card because I still used it as a border die.  So my next card was to cut out the die and then use it as a stencil.  I stenciled some waves with SU Marina Mist Ink and then reversed it and stenciled some clouds using SU Pool Party Ink.
So these were the 2 cards I came up with.  I can't wait to see what the rest of the team came up with.  If you click on the links below, you will find each team members take on this challenge.

Inky Paws Challenge #205 is to use Stripes.  What a fun challenge this is.  For my card today I am using the stamp set Holiday Post

This was such a fun image to play with. I colored the image with my copic markers and pop dotted it to the striped paper.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

SCS Monthly Image Swap

I really like to challenge myself to come up with a different card.  This month for our Mystery Image swap, Jennifer sent us a truck image from Raisin Boat Stamps.  She challenged us to stamp our own company logo or motto on the truck.  My first thought was to make it a truck with flowers on it.  So as I was searching through my stamps I found another stamp set I thought would work.

In my younger days my family used to show horses.   We were in 4-H and would go to horse shows almost every weekend.  I did pretty well but I can't say I enjoyed it.  I was always a little intimidated by the horses.  I did win several aways though but mainly because I had such a great horse.  When we would travel to horse shows we would be amazed at some of the fancy horse trailer/truck rigs with pictures of their horses on them.  (Ours was not one of those - LOL).  So this card brought back a few memories for me.  I used the Stampin Up set "Let It Ride".  I stamped the horse, colored it with copics and fussy cut it out.  I pop dotted it on the back and put it on the back of the truck.  I also stamped the trees at the bottom of the truck door.  The sentiment was also in that stamp set.

So thanks Jennifer for a great challenge.  I had so much fun coming up  with this idea.

Challenge Your Stash

Today is reveal day for our Challenge Your Stash challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  Lorraine is our hostess this month and she came up with a great challenge.  Her challenge is "Here's What's Cooking".  Her theme is definitely one that is close to my heart.  I love to cook (ok bake anyway) so it was fun going through my stamps and finding one to use.

I remember as a child we grew strawberries which is still my favorite fruit to this day.  My mom would always make strawberry preserves and I would help her.  My sisters and I laugh because I would do anything not to have to go outside and they were the exact opposite.  They wanted to be outside.  So I became mom's helper.

The stamp set I used was an old one from Papertrey Ink Called Spring Jar Fillers.  I also used their small jar for the berries.  I thought it would be fun to used a red plaid paper to form a table cloth with a little blue trim.

Thanks Lorraine for a great challenge this month.  It was so fun.

Creative Crew

The 15th of the month sure rolls around fast for me.  Today's challenge comes from Lorraine.  I love her challenge because I can get a jump start on my Christmas cards.  Lorraine loves wreaths and gingerbread people so she came up with this wonderful challenge.

The stamp set is from Your Next Stamp called "Holiday Wreaths".  Your Next Stamp is going out of business so if you are looking to buy one of their stamps, now is the time.  I just placed an order because I think their stamps are adorable.

The designer paper comes from Simple Stores (Baking Spirits Bright) and Photoplay (Homemade Holidays).  I just loved coloring this wreath with my copics.

Lorrainen also provided some ribbon, gems, and embellishments.  I used the white box and the candy piece.  I cut out a scalloped circle from the glitter paper and pop dotted the wreath and sentiment to the center.

You can see what the other team members came up with for this challenge.

The stamp set I am using for my card today is from "One Spring Day" digital stamp set for The Cutting Cae Store.   There are so many fun elements to that stamp set.

I decided to first start with the frame with the image around the edge and the flowers at the bottom.  I printed it off and then colored it with my copic markers.  I then printed off the bird houses and colored them with my copic markers.  I fussy cut them out and then pop dotted them on to the card.  I added the sentiment to the top of the card which is from Newtons Nook Woodland Spring set.

BYSH Cardmakers Challenge

Thanks to BYSH Cardmakers:  Christmas in July Challenge, I am getting a nice start on my Christmas cards.

For my card today I made a simple card using a kit I received in a swap on Splitcoaststampers.  Darlene had sent me the Lawn Fawn Frosties stamp and die set so I thought I would use it to make this card.
The paper I used was by Gina K called "Season's Greetings.  I colored a little bit of the snowflakes to match the papers.

I was going through a drawer and found this beautiful card holder that my friend Vannessa Osbourn had given me.  I just love it.

Time again for another challenge over at Pammies Inky Pinkies Challenges.  This weeks challenge is being sponsored by Sheepski Designs.

I found some beautiful images in her etsy store.  I sure hope you check it out.  For my card today I am using the digital stamp Penguin stack.

I printed the image off and colored it with my copic markers and used a scalloped oval to cut the image out with.  I think the image makes the card.

I also decided to add this to the BYSH Cardmakers challenge since I have another Christmas card done because of their inspiration.

I have decided since this is July that I would get a jump start on my Christmas cards.  I found the Build Your Stash Holiday site and found some great inspiration there.

The grinch stamp is by CC Designs called Green One.  I loved coloring him with my copic markers.
The papers are from Recollections.  The Merry is by Taylored expressions.  What a fun card to make and great fun to make.

Thanks to BYSH Cardmakers for the inspiration and helping me get started on my Christmas cards.
