Retirement Card

I needed to make a retirement card for a friend and decided to use the sketch challenge over at Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge.
I decided to twist my card and make it a little different.  I used the stamp set from Newton's Nook Designs called Peony Blooms.  I love florals so this was the perfect set for me to use.
I colored the image with my copic markers and then fussy cut the image out.  The sentiment is from a Stampin Up set that I had.

Your the Gratest

Today I have a nice colorful card made for The Project Bin using their new stamp set "The Gratest".

I decided to stamp the graters  3 times across the piece of paper and then colored them with my copic markers.  Made for a simple but colorful card.

I hope you check out The Project Bin Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team comes up with using this fun new stamp set.

Newton's Nook Here's to You

Did you know that I am a huge fan of Newton's Nook Designs?  Their stamps and stencils are just the cutest.

The have a challenge every two weeks called Inky Paws Challenge.  This week is a color challenge.
So for my card I pulled out their Argyle Stencil which I have been having so much fun with.
I stenciled the backgrounds first and stamped the image out and colored with my copic markers.  I then fussy cut the image out and pop dotted it on the oval.  The image is from "Newton Celebrates".  Just a simple card but I love how that background really makes the image pop.  I might never buy paper again.  OK just kidding.  I love my paper also.

Just a reminder about my prize package.  I am trying to increase the number of followers on my blog.  I have put together a fun prize package (some new and some gently used) which consists of 4 stamp sets.  (See below for picture of stamps I have included in the prize package).  If you would like to win this prize package, please comment on this post with what you would like to see more of in my blog posts.  Also, please follow me on my blog.  I will be drawing from all the posts on Sunday, February 24 and announcing the winner on my blog on Monday, February 25.  Thanks so much and good luck.

Washi Tape Creations

I am in a Creative Kit Swap over on Splitcoastampers.  It has been so much fun to see what people come up with in their kits.  This month Shelly was our hostess and she sent all kinds of fun dies and some beautiful washi tapes.  Well I love my washi tape and decided to have a little fun with the kit.

This was the first card I made using a couple fun dies she sent me.  The border die gave me this beautiful center to accent all the washi tapes I had put on the card base. The bunny die she sent was just adorable.

I decided this card fit perfectly in the Week #55 Sketch Saturday.

Another card I made using the washi tape included some heart dies.  I just put the washi tape across the card base and the hearts over it.

And for my last card I just put strips of washi tape across and used this adorable bunny diecut she sent me.

The bunny border was a little long so I cut one of the bunnies off and used it for the inside of my card.

The Project Bin

How did Wednesday roll around so quickly?  This week is just flying by.  I almost forgot about my Wednesday post for The Project Bin.  Guess I have been having way too much fun staring at the snow we seem to be getting daily.  Ugh - will spring never come.

For my card today I decided to do a bright and cheery card hoping that spring will surely follow.  I used the stamp set "The Gratest".  I stamped off several of the bees and colored them with my copic markers.  I then fussy cut them out and adhered them to the card base.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Dueling Darlings

Today is the 15th and that means time for our Dueling Darlings Challenge.  Barb and I were the hostesses this month and we decided to go for a fun theme this month.  Did you know that February 20 is Love Your Pet Day.  Well Barb and I decided to go with that for our theme this month.

I decided to make this adorable card for my sister's birthday.  She is a crazy dog lover and I always try and make her a card.  The stamp set I used is called "Fetching Friendship" from Newton's Nook.  The Designer paper is from Authentique called "Companions".  I colored the dog image and then fussy cut it out.

I had to color another dog for the inside of the card.  Once I got started I couldn't stop coloring those adorable dogs.  So Happy Birthday to my sister and be sure and Love Your Pet on the 20th.  I'm sure my crazy 2 cats will get some lovin also.

The Project Bin

I am having so much fun with the new stamp set from The Project Bin called The Gratest.  But you are going to have to wait to see these fun cards I have made.  With tomorrow being Valentine's Day I had to make a valentine card with the fun stamp sets I have.
I decided to go with a fairly simple card.  I started by folding a 4 1/4" x 11" card base in half.  I then took the die from the "In My Heart" stamp set and placed it on the upper left hand of my card front.  I then put the whole card in my Misti and placed the polka dotted stamp where I cut the heart.  I then opened up the card and stamped the image.  Came out just perfect.  I then cut another heart out with the designer paper and the xoxo with red cardstock.  The sentiment is from the Really Hungry Stamp set.
This is a glimpse at the inside of my card.  What a fun and easy project to make.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Crafters of Faith Challenge

Today is going to be a tough post for me.  I do not share much of my personal life on my blog because I like this to be a place of inspiration.  But I felt this was the time for a special dedication.

I selected the month of February to be the hostess for our Crafters of Faith group on Splitcoaststampers.  The scripture I chose was 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 "Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things".

When I selected this verse I wanted to dedicate this month to my mother who has suffered from dementia for several years.  She had recently been in the hospital and was told she probably had 6 months to live.  I lost my mom 2 weeks after that.

This is a picture from Christmas 2015 of me and my mom before she got too bad and couldn't remember who we were.  I was with my mom the last days of her life and what I remember is her gripping a teddy bear that I had made for her years ago.  So it was easy to come up with a card this month.
I first started by sponging the hearts in the background using the new Picket Fence Blending brushes.  They are wonderful.  I then cut out the Penny Black Love die and stamped the bear from the Penny Black Key to my heart stamp set.  I colored her with my copic markers and fussy cut her out.  I then pop dotted her on the die cut to make it look like she was sitting on the word "Love".

Lastly I would like to that all my friends who have sent me sympathy cards.  They have meant so much to me and I have treasured each and every one.  I am so touched with the kindness everyone has shown me.

There is no special love like the love for a mother or love from a mother.  This is why I dedicate my card to the memory of my mother.

The Project Bin

The Project Bin has just released a new stamp set called "The Gratest".  I have been having fun with this set and making some cute cards.
For my card today I decided to use the pizza stamp because hey, who doesn't love pizza?  I stamped the image all over a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of white cardstock.  I then colored the images with my copic markers.  For the sentiment I stamped it on black cardstock with versamark and then used white embossing powder to give it a raised look.  I then adhered the stamped piece of paper to the card base.

I can't wait to try more of the stamps in that stamp set.  If you go to the actual stamp set in the store (by clicking on "The Gratest" above), you will see all kinds of ideas by the design team.  That always helps me for inspiration.

Happy Birthday Deb

Today is my sister "Debbi's" birthday.  We won't mention which one.  I made this birthday card for her because they raise cattle and thought it would be perfect for her.  My sister is able to work from home and her computer is in front of a window where she loves to look out and watch all the baby calves.
For her card I started with a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of cardstock.  I then stenciled some clouds in the background and then used a sunray stencil over that.  I then put some grass at the bottom using a stitched die and then added the fence and barn.  The cows and sentiment are from a stamp set by Sunny Studio called Miss Moo.  What a fun card this was to make.

Tomorrow I have another card with a new stamp set I received from The Project Bin.  It is going to be a busy week on my blog so be sure and check back every day.

PIP Challenges

Today we have Morgan's ArtWorld as our sponsor this week at Pammie's Inky Pinkies Designs.  Her images are so much fun to color.
The image I used today is Ted4 from Morgan's Art World.  Such an adorable image.  I printed the image off and then colored it with my copic markers.  This will make the perfect card for any occasion.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card this week.  I hope to have several posts this week so be sure and check back daily.

Creative Crew

This month's theme for our Creative Crew group comes from Terry and her theme is Thanks Snow Much.  What a fun theme but I hope this do...
