Additional Recycled Cards

These were the other two cards that I recycled.  This time I took pictures of before and after.  I loved these 2 dogs.  And the card below was a cute mouse card that I received in the mail.  This is my idea of recycling cards.

Umbrella Card

I was visiting the local quilt shop this week and realized that inspiration can come from anywhere.  I found this cute pattern with an umbrella and flowers.  I decided to go home and make a card with that pattern in mind.  Over at Two Paper Divas, they have a digital image called Rainy Days.  It is such a bargain with all the images you get.  Some good news for Two Paper Divas is that they also are carrying some of their images in clear stamps.  You can see what they have HERE.   I am so lucky that they have a store called Remember This Remember That that is fairly close to where I live.  They have some great classes and also carry the clear stamps shown on Two Paper Divas.

So here is my card.  I printed the umbrella on the patterned paper, brown cardstock and the blue cardstock.  The designer paper is from Hello Summer by echo park paper company.  There are some beautiful papers in there.  I then cut out the handle and top of umbrella of the brown cardstock and patterned paper.  I then glued down the handle on the blue paper where I had printed on it.  I used pop ups to give the paper umbrella some texture.  I then added sun, clouds and birdie which are all dies from Papertrey Ink.  I then added different shapes of flowers like they were falling out of the umbrella.  I used an embossing folder on the pink cardstock for the background and added a Happy Birthday sentiment.

So I love the way this card turned out and remember that inspiration is all around us.  All we need to do is look.

SCS Challenge

It has been a while since I have posted.  Life sure is going fast.  I have so many projects half started and ideas are just swimming in my head.  I have always thought that sleep is a necessary evil and that I could get so much more accomplished with that 8 hours.

Today I decided to post a few cards that I am making for a challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.  The challenge is to recycle a card that was given to you.  I just had a birthday so I had lots of neat cards to pick from.  I wish I would of taken pictures of the cards before I started.  The first card below I received had lots of circles so I just cut out and added some ribbon and embellishments.
This next card had swirls all over it.  I added some butterflies and a banner saying Happy Birthday.  The rhinestones were already on the card.
This last card I just cut up and pieces it on a black background.  I also put the gold paper through a embossing folder to give it a little texture.
I will post the other 2 cards I made tomorrow.  I have so much to post and hopefully I can be better about putting it on my blog.

I hope everyone has a great week.

Art Impressions Challenge

I just love the images from Art Impressions Stamps because they have such personality.  I wanted to make a birthday card for my friend Joan so I decided to use the stamp "Party Girls" from the Girlfriends series at Art Impressions.  The sentiment is also from Art Impressions.  I colored the image with my copic markers and used the designer paper "Hello Summer" by Echo Park Paper Company.  Just beautiful colors in that series.  I then decorated the card with some bling and my favorite die "Mini Rolled Roses" from My Favorite Things Stamps using some felt I had.  All in all I was very satisfied with this card and decided to enter it in the Art Impressions Weekly Challenge on their blog.  The theme this week is Fitness, Workout or Dieting.

Stamp Camp

What a fabulous time we had at stamp camp on Saturday.  I just love the cards Susan comes up with.  Always amazing that we can make 8 cards in 3 hours.  We are always trying some new techniques that I just love and wouldn't think of trying.  In the 2 cards below, the one with the flamingo, we used sheetrock tape behind the image.  Isn't that cute?  The butterfly card was made using paint chips.
On the cards below, my favorite was the sunflower one.  We used the top note die to cut out cardboard and then just tore some off.  The other little card was done with embossing on paper.
The flower card  below was made using the scallop circle punch.  I just love those flowers.
And the last card was a simple but elegant card.
So what a grand time we hard and some beautiful things made.  What fun we had!

Creative Crew

This month's theme for our Creative Crew group comes from Terry and her theme is Thanks Snow Much.  What a fun theme but I hope this do...
