Happy New Year

Today is the day that I am thinking about New Years Resolutions and goals for 2011. I would live to come up with a goal for myself - maybe 365 cards to be made in 2011? Not sure. Have to think about it. I would love to do my challenges next year and see if I can expand on what I make.

I hope everyone has a wonderful 2011. I am posting a picture of the card I made for the PaperTrey Ink swap I am in. This was with some new dies and stamps I got from them for Christmas. Great fun.

December PTI Blog Hop

Today I decided to make a Thank You card for one of my wonderful Christmas gifts. I also decided to participate in the December PTI Blog Hop. Part of the challenge was to use scraps from your Christmas gifts. I used red tissue paper to make my flower from PTI Bloom Builders #2 Die.

I used scraps of paper left over from my Christmas card making to cut the house using the house die cut from the PTI

The doily was with a package of goodies I received from a friend.

The red border was cut from an AMC gift card holder that I received from my sister using the PTI Eyelet Lace Border Die. The blue behind the eyelet was cut from a Christmas card I received.

I cut the small hearts using the smallest heart die from the PTI Hearts Prints Collection Dies from some red felt I had left over from making mittens for gifts and the red heart above the saying was from a gift tag I used.

"From My Heart to your Home" was from the Love Lives Here stamp set from PTI.

What fun I had with this challenge becuase I got to use alot of my purchases from the December goodies which I absolutely loved.

Christmas Stocking Giftcard

Merry Christmas to one and all. I hope everyone is able to spend the holiday with their loved ones. I look forward to family time and cherishing those that I love.

Today I am posting a picture of a gift card holder that I made. You can get instructions here. It was so much fun to make and I thought it turned out pretty cute.

Enjoy and I will be back in a couple of days. I got some new toys for Christmas and hope to play with them over the weekend.

Monochromatic Card

This card was for a challenge on SCS. We had to come up with a card using one color so I chose pink and luckily I had everything on hand to make these cards. Pink is my new favorite color. Tomorrow I hope to post the stocking gift card holder I made. Probably the last of my Christmas cards. I am ready to get on with new things to make.

Christmas Tags

Well my sister tells me it is time to post on my blog. I have been busy cooking treats for work and neighbors. Haven't been able to get out of the kitchen. Thought I would show a few Christmas tags that I made with my Cricut. I actually used it which impressed myself. These were great fun to make.

Check back tomorrow because I might even have a couple more things to post. Hope everyone is getting ready for a very Merry Christmas.

Antique Christmas Card

I found this technique on Sharon's Blog where you fold the paper to make a neat little design. Great way to use the double sided paper. I think I need a little practice but sure like the look. I am hopefully finalizing all my Christmas cards this week. I am actually thinking about Valentines Day if you can believe it.

Sister Christmas Card

Over the weekend I had this fantastic idea. I was going to take every Christmas card I received last year and re-make it in to a Christmas card that I would send back to them.

Well after taking a whole evening on one card, I decided maybe I should think about that for next year. So my one card I made was from the snowflake on the card she sent me.

Here is the before and after.

My Helper

It has been a while since I have posted but I am always wanting to try out some fantastic project that takes twice as long as I thought it would. Check back tomorrow for my post and you will see an example of what I mean.

I thought I would post a picture of my helper Rocky who wants to get in everything I pull out. I was making grief packets for the Birth Place at the hospital I work at and he had to climb in my bag.

Check back tomorrow because I have several posts in the next couple of days.

Baby Quilt for Neighbor

Well I am enjoying my last day off of my vacation of six days straight off. It has been great. My sister came over this morning and we were going to stamp but I ended up cleaning out my crafts room while she cut several dies out with my Big Shot. I then cleaned my refrigerator and cupboards and then put all my Christmas decorations up. I also fixed Swiss steak since my hubbie ask if I was ever going to cook again. We have been eating out alot.

This quilt is for my neighbor who is due to have a baby boy in 2 weeks. Wow - I actually got it done before the baby came. LOL!

Have a great week.

November PTI Blog Hop

Today I made a Christmas Tag for the November PTI Blog Hop. I used the PTI "Holiday Sparkle" Stamp Set and the "Tiny Treats: Christmas" Stamp Set. I also used the Large Scallop Border, the Limitless Layer Collection and Mat Stack 1 from PTI. I used the sponging technique on this tag. What fun this was to make.

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving. I would like to take the time today to be thankful for my family and friends. There are so many things that I am thankful for but I can't list them all.

I wanted to post the Thanksgiving card that we made at Stamp Camp and the Thanksgiving card that I sent out to everyone. Have a great day and check back tomorrow for all the other cards we made at stamp camp.

I received this darling owl card from my sister in the mail yesterday. I just had to share because she sure is using her owl punch to making really cute things. Thanks so much Deb.

I wanted to make a gift card holder for a friend so this is what I came up with. Here is the tutorial that I found on how to make it. It was lots of fun to make. Sorry I haven't posted much but have been busy, busy, busy. I am currently working on a baby quilt for my new little great-nephew. I am going to Stamp Camp on Saturday so should have lots of fun things to post after that.

ICC Sketch Challenge # 11 for November

This was the latest sketch challenge over at ICC found here. Stop over and see the other great creations that people came up with. I decided to use my wreath stamp that I recently got from PTI. I just love that you can make it any holiday. Of course I had to use the large scallop die also. Another favorite of mine. This card is a sample of what I love about fall. The leaves are just beautiful right now and the colors are so vibrant. Be sure and check out the other creations.

Dog Top Note Purse

This was a fun little purse I made out of the "Top Note" die from Stampin Up. I cut 3 printed paper and 3 solid browns from the die. I trimmed the printed paper at the dotted line and then glued to the solid brown. I then made an inside little box by cutting a solid brown piece of paper 5 1/2 x 7 inches. I scored at 1 inch at each 5 1/2 inch length and then on the long end I scored at 3" and 4". I then folded it up and cut to fold it at the sides. I glued 2 of the top note sets to each side of the box. The top is open. I scored the 3rd top note to where there is an inch at the top. I also added grommets and ribbon for the handle. Then was then glued on the the back half of the purse. I added the D stamp with 1 1/4", then glued to a 1 3/8" brown circle and then used my scallop circle punch for the outer part. I glued to the center of the front of the purse and then glued velcro on each side to keep the purse closed. You can add any kind of candy in the box.

Well now I need to clean my house so I can finish a couple more projects I am working on. Tune back in for another completed project soon.

Dog Calendar

I went to Michaels and bought some of their $1 calendars and thought it would be cute to add my own little cover. I used the "D is for Dog" stamp set again from Stampin Up. This paper I recently got at Archivers. You have to love the colors. Now I need to go back and get more calendars. I think these would make great gifts.

Dog Note Cards

For the next couple of days, the blog will be devoted to dogs. I am working on a couple projects for my secret sister on SCS. Guess if she checks out my blog, it won't be much of a surprise. Today I made a set of note cards to be used for any occasion. I just love the paw border punch I got at Michaels. The stamp set was "D is for dog" from Stampin Up. I bought the paper at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Can't remember exactly. I have had it for a while. Fun paper for dog lovers.

Bookmark Swap

Today I am posting my bookmarks that I have been working on for a SCS swap. I just love this color combination from PTI. Was able to use scraps. Since my sister was having so much fun with the owl punch, thought I would pull mine out and use it. Found the fence stickers in my stash. Imagine that. The other 2 cards I used the All Booked Up stamp set from Paper Trey Ink. I borrowed one of the ideas from Olivia who made her darling bookmarks for a swap I hosted a couple of months ago. Mine don't live up to hers but sure were fun to make. Thanks for the inspiration Olivia. So now I need to find another project. Guess I will start on my Christmas cards.

Second Blue Christmas Card

This is my second blue Christmas card that I made for a SCS swap. I received the Dasher stamp in the mail from SU and knew that I had to use it. It is so much fun. I used the Lovely as A Tree stamp set for the background and then stamped darker with Marina Mist ink from SU. Love that new color. I then punched out the sentiment and added to the card. Simple yet I really like it. A few rhinestones and it was finished.

Debbi's Quilt

Today I am going to post a picture of a quilt I made for my sister Debbi several years ago. She just now put it on her bed because she felt she couldn't put it on because her dogs would get on it. She has lost all her dogs now and decided to bring it out. Of course if you look close, you will see a cat on the quilt. I told her quilts are made to be loved (By animals and people). Of course that comes from me who has 2 cats permanently on my bed. She picked out the fabrics and this is what we came up with. Thanks Deb from helping provide pictures to my blog. Tomorrow I will have my second blue Christmas card to post.

Blue Christms Card

Yes, I am back. My sister reminds me when I haven't posted in a while. My creative mojo left me for a while and I have been extremely busy at work. I think things are about to slow down so my creativity is reappearing. I have several cards to post but I will start with my Christmas card that had to have blue in it. I used "A Tree for All Seasons" stamp from Stampin up. I just love that stamp set because it has a stamp for each season. I also used the snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder with my Marina Mist cardstock. A few little touches with the red ribbon and the SU scallop punches. A little extra blind was the blue stickles for snowflakes.

So I am back and just keep checking back to my blog for more creative projects.

Challenge is Orange

I was supposed to come up with a card using the color orange. I cut and embossed the orange background, cut 4 - 1 3/4" green squares, and then stamped on white the orange butterflies and the green leaf pattern. I then cut out 1 1/2" squares and adhered them to the green squares. I then added ribbon and the embossed butterflies from the Stampin Up butterfly die.

Raccoon Card

This card was from a kit that Vannessa brought to our little outing the a couple weeks ago. I just love this little fellow. Don't think I will ever be able to part with this card.

September Stamp Camp

I have been on vacation so haven't really had the time to post much new. I just finished all my cards from the September Stamp camp so I thought I would post those. I am always amazed at Susan's creativity.

Thank You Frog Card

This is the last of my craft sale cards. I love the image on this card. It is from a SU set called A Flower for All Seasons. I can't wait to use the other stamps in the set. I also used the SU scallop punch.

Birthday Card

This was another birthday card I made using the scallop punch I bought at Michaels and then another spellbinder die that matched perfectly. You can see that I really like this color combination.

Happy Birthday Card

This card I made just by cutting strips of paper. A great way to use up scraps. Black always makes things look a little richer. I just love adding buttons to my cards. I sure am getting my use out of this card. It is almost time to retire it because I have used it so much.

Butterfly Card

I really like the simplicity of this card. I used my butterfly die from SU and cut squares. It always amazes me how layering can really add something to a card.

CK Convention

I went to the Creative Keepsake Convention in Kansas City this weekend and had a blast. I went with my sister and 2 of her friends who I now consider my friends. We took several fun classes and shopped until we couldn't shop any more. The first picture is of our classroom (Diecutting & Embossing) which we enjoyed and the second picture is a brief glimpse of the vendors. When I complete my projects from the convention I will post them but just wanted everyone to get a feel of what the convention is about. We are already planning next year knowing what we want to do different. So I am a little (okay a lot) poorer but sure had fun.

Baby Boy Card

I made this card from a PTI stamp set that I really like. When I am more organized, I will list the name of the stamp set. I decided to do half girl cards and half boy cards so you will be ready no matter what.

Baby Girl Card

Sorry I have been MIA for a while but I have been busy, busy, busy. This week I am going to be posting the card sets that I made for our craft sale at the hospital I work at. I didn't get much done but I always make things I like so if they don't sell I have plenty of cards for myself. This first card I used a stamp set from SU that I bought at a garage sale. Thought it turned out really cute.

Happy Fall

This was such a fun card to make. I borrowed the pumpkin idea from my SCS friend Oliva. Hope you don't mind. I made the pumpkin with the oval punch and punched out several different leaf designs. Reminds me of why I love this time of year. Fall Festivals, beautiful colors and wonderful pumpkin desserts.

Scallop card

This card was another card swap design that I came up with. I scalloped the bottom with a scallop punch and then another die cut over it. I always like it when you can see the inside of the card before you open it. These color choices are a little out of my comfort zone but I was determined to use something different.

First Christmas Card 2010

Well October is here and I guess it is time to start on my Christmas cards. I made this design for a card swap that uses PTI wreath stamp. I used Spellbinder Contemporary hearts for the background and stamped with pear pizazz from SU and added some red berries and red ribbon. Very simple but elegant also. Be sure and check back because I am back to my blog again and hope to put something new on every day.

PTI Blog Hop

I used the copic markers with the stamp set from PTI. This was a fun project. Love this stamp set.

Jackpot

Sorry I haven't gotten my scarf posted yet. I just haven't got around to taking a picture of it yet. I made 4 pink scarves for a Breast Cancer swap but forgot to take a picture before I put them in the mail. So today I am posting a picture of a jackpot I came across today. I found all these stamps at a garage sale. Some of them have never been used. Well anyone who knows me, knows that I need new stamps terribly. (NOT!) Well anyway, I couldn't pass up a bargain so I wanted to share my good news. Let me know if anyone wants stamped images. I love sharing.

Fight Like a Girl

Today I had to come up with something for a swap entitled "Fight Like a Girl". The theme is breast cancer and so I decided to cover a composition notebook and then take coasters and make a post it note holder. Check back tomorrow and see the scarf I made with fall colors.

Creative Crew

This month's theme for our Creative Crew group comes from Terry and her theme is Thanks Snow Much.  What a fun theme but I hope this do...
