Create from Your Stash

Today is the day we are posting our creations for the Create From Your Stash group on Splitcoaststampers.  Maggie is our hostess this month and her challenge was to make a clean and simple card.  I thought this would be an easy challenge but of course I waited until the last minute to make my card.  I got my supplies out this morning and it is definitely clean and simple.

I love foxes and have had the Hero Arts Fall Fox Bundle set just sitting on my desk of stamps I want to use.  I stamped the fox in the corner with the leaves.  I then stamped the image on peel away tape also and put it over the fox so I could use my stencil brush around the outside of the fox.  I use Distress Ink in China Blue.  I then colored the image with my copic markers.  So easy and fun.

Thanks Maggie for a great challenge.

Creative Crew

This month's challenge for our creative crew bunch comes from Jeanette.  I really had to think hard on this challenge.  The September Theme is A Die that's Not a Die.  She sent me a large stitched scallop border die.  I really had to really use my thinking cap as to how I could use it in some other way than as a traditional die.

My first attempt was to make a card and use it as a border.  I cut out one side and then reversed it and cut out the other side.  You can see below the blue border I came up with using this technique.

I really wasn't happy with my card because I still used it as a border die.  So my next card was to cut out the die and then use it as a stencil.  I stenciled some waves with SU Marina Mist Ink and then reversed it and stenciled some clouds using SU Pool Party Ink.
So these were the 2 cards I came up with.  I can't wait to see what the rest of the team came up with.  If you click on the links below, you will find each team members take on this challenge.

Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge #2335

Happy Labor Day!  I hope you are all enjoying a relaxing day.  Today starts a new challenge for Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenges. The challenge today is sponsored by Varada Sharma.

She has such beautiful digital stamps.  The one I chose for my card today is called Mini Slimline Floral Wishes.  The ideas are endless for this beautiful stamp set.

I printed off the image on my Canon printer and then colored the image with my copic markers.  I love coloring flowers so this was so much fun for me.

Be sure and check out the Varada Sharma store.

Inky Paws Challenge

They have a fun challenge over at Newtons Nook Designs.

Inky Paws Challenge #205 is to use Stripes.  What a fun challenge this is.  For my card today I am using the stamp set Holiday Post

This was such a fun image to play with. I colored the image with my copic markers and pop dotted it to the striped paper.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Be sure and check out Newtons Nook Designs this weekend because they are having a sale and who doesn't like a sale.

SCS Monthly Image Swap

I really like to challenge myself to come up with a different card.  This month for our Mystery Image swap, Jennifer sent us a truck image from Raisin Boat Stamps.  She challenged us to stamp our own company logo or motto on the truck.  My first thought was to make it a truck with flowers on it.  So as I was searching through my stamps I found another stamp set I thought would work.

In my younger days my family used to show horses.   We were in 4-H and would go to horse shows almost every weekend.  I did pretty well but I can't say I enjoyed it.  I was always a little intimidated by the horses.  I did win several aways though but mainly because I had such a great horse.  When we would travel to horse shows we would be amazed at some of the fancy horse trailer/truck rigs with pictures of their horses on them.  (Ours was not one of those - LOL).  So this card brought back a few memories for me.  I used the Stampin Up set "Let It Ride".  I stamped the horse, colored it with copics and fussy cut it out.  I pop dotted it on the back and put it on the back of the truck.  I also stamped the trees at the bottom of the truck door.  The sentiment was also in that stamp set.

So thanks Jennifer for a great challenge.  I had so much fun coming up  with this idea.

Challenge Your Stash

Today is reveal day for our Challenge Your Stash challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  Lorraine is our hostess this month and she came up with a great challenge.  Her challenge is "Here's What's Cooking".  Her theme is definitely one that is close to my heart.  I love to cook (ok bake anyway) so it was fun going through my stamps and finding one to use.

I remember as a child we grew strawberries which is still my favorite fruit to this day.  My mom would always make strawberry preserves and I would help her.  My sisters and I laugh because I would do anything not to have to go outside and they were the exact opposite.  They wanted to be outside.  So I became mom's helper.

The stamp set I used was an old one from Papertrey Ink Called Spring Jar Fillers.  I also used their small jar for the berries.  I thought it would be fun to used a red plaid paper to form a table cloth with a little blue trim.

Thanks Lorraine for a great challenge this month.  It was so fun.

PIP Challenge #2333

This weeks challenge over at Pammies Inky Pinkies Challenges (#2333) is being sponsored by We Are 3.  The are a wonderful digital company that carries Digital Paper, Sentiments & Images.

For my card today I am using the We are 3 Digital Paper, Botanical, Flowers, Floral, Garden set.  This is such a beautiful set and a real bargain for only $2.  I printed off one of the floral selections and colored it with my copic markers.
I also added the sentiment die cut and a butterfly to the card.  Such a fun card to make.  I hope you check out the We Are 3 store because there are so many great digital images to pick from.
